May be used in a great variety of applications for transport of water and other liquids. Pipe thread compound or sealing tape should be applied to threaded portion of nipple. Nipples are IPS (iron pipe size) and threaded to NPT (National Pipe Thread) pipe threads and meet ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) specifications D1785.
